1. the location was superb if you were interested in irish history, esp the easter rising of 1916, as there was revolutionary action right out the front door on st stephens green! (and it was well and thoroughly explained as you explored the park) 2. i came to dublin looking to see as many harry clarke windows as i could cram in, and they had a magnificent one of their own right there in our hotel! unbelievable! as good as they come, rates with those in any of the museum collections in town. 3. also had a wonderful collection of other art, interesting photos, and a some cool old maps... 4. the breakfasts were incredible, i was able to get by with that and one other meal per day, which really saves time if you're trying to see as much as possible... 5. transport connections to the trains north or south, to the trams, and to the bus system were very convenient. 6. they had a beautiful garden out back, if i hadn't been running around so much i would have enjoyed spending more time just relaxing out there...next time! 7. finally, and very important, the staff were delightful and very helpful...information on getting around was spot on, and i had many interesting conversations with front desk folk and the servers at breakfast...i come from a lily-white conservative town and it was fun to be among an international cast of characters with stories to tell...thank you all, if you read this...

Location is excellent, and the breakfast is great. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh fruit and yogurt. The hot choices were very good, and the dining staff were always very welcoming while being very professional and efficient. The hotel staff was outstanding. We had a room snafu that was handled with a smile and grace. (Thanks Zack!) our bags were transferred during our absence, and the transition could not have been easier. From the manager who made our reservations for us at Balfes, the staff who oversaw the bar ( great gin and tonics btw), the room staff and the uber efficient front desk staff who handled our room and also prevented a taxi-to-the-airport potential issue through their thoroughness in double checking bookings (taxi cancelled morning of unexpectedly) - Staunton’s staff was exceptional during our visit.

I couldn’t ask for a better location - right across the street from St. Stephen’s Green, close to Grafton St. and tons of restaurants etc.. Also close to transportation options. It’s a lovely hotel; I’ve watched it evolve over the years from a slightly shabby-genteel but comfortable property to a very nice hotel. My room this last visit was right on the back courtyard with beautiful flowering plants and a fountain, totally away from the noise of the city. It really was heavenly. This is my constant first choice for hotel in Dublin - if I can’t stay here I usually leave the city!

Staunton's On The Green was our first stop on a two week Ireland visit. It was a real treat in all respects. The location is ideal for exploring Dublin. Each day we were able to walk idly through the wonderful green enjoying the birds, flora and other visitors. Our room was very nice on the top floor with a very good view of St Stephen's green. Hotel staff were always courteous and helpful. The breakfasts each day were perfect. You were able to order whatever you wished. Waitstaff were also quite good. We very much enjoyed our early exposure and our stay at Staunton's

Location was absolutely perfect, with St Stephen’s Green at the front of hotel and another lovely park at the back. The hotel lobby and common seating areas are welcoming and elegant, in an understated way. I appreciated many little things that invited comfort and enjoyment - jugs of ice water & apples set out for guests, books and cozy seating. Artwork around the hotel added unique local interest (portraits of James Joyce and Oscar Wilde), and the courtyard garden was beautiful. Our family room faced this back courtyard, so it was quiet with lovely views.
